Nama Sam Smith – penyanyi Inggeris kelahiran 19 Mei 1992 – ini melambung menyusul kesuksesan single Stay With Me dari album debutnya In The Lonely Hour. Stay With Me meraup penjualan lebih dari 6 juta kopi.

Di Amerika single ini menduduki urutan 2 US Billboard Hot 100, dan masuk dalam nominasi Grammy Awards 2014 untuk 3 kategori sekaligus, yaitu Song of The Year, Record of The Year, dan Best Pop Solo Performance. Luar biasa.

Sam yang masih sepupu penyanyi Lily Allen belajar menyanyi dan menulis lagu dibawah bimbingan penyanyi dan penulis musik jazz Joanna Edden. Ia

Singel yang kemudian berhasil menjadi soundtrack film Men in Black.

Debut album Songs in A Minor yang dirilis pada 2001 melambungkan nama Alicia Keys di
